O souboru

Zdeněk Adam

The Artistic Director, Soloist Oboe, Oboe d´amore, English horn

Zdenek played the violin as a child and took up the oboe at the age of 12.  After graduating from the State Conservatory Prague, where he studied under Professor A. Kubat, he performed with various

symphony orchestras, but his real love has always been chamber music.

In 1979 Zdenek became first oboist of the Prague Chamber Orchestra, giving acclaimed performances in the USA and several European countries. During the l980s he worked with the Symphonic Orchestra Karlovy Vary and the Film Symphony Orchestra.  As star soloist, he played

concerts for oboe and orchestra by G. F. Handel, B. Marcello, R. Strauss and G. P. Telemann, while a Berlin concert of music by J. V. Stamic was recorded with the Pilsner Symphony Orchestra.

Zdenek Adam also founded two chamber ensembles, a duo of oboe and harp and the Trio di Praga, with oboe, flute and harpsichord.

His greatest success, however, is the Czech Chamber Philharmonic, founded in 1997  with leading music agency B-Arts Production.  Zdenek Adam is artistic director, oboist and soloist for this very popular orchestra from the Czech Republic.
