Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart:

Symphonies No. 25, No. 41, The Little Night Music

Czech Chamber Philharmonic

Petr Vronský

The decision to record three compositions of a single author was decisively a fortunate one. There is no harm in the fact that these are universally known works. The Little Night Music even belongs to the most played „hits“ of classic music altogether. Those who are in search of a perfect accomplishment not moving away from the existing traditions will surely like this recording. Vronský leads the Czech Chamber Philharmonic safely, the beats are adequate, the structure of movements is easy to follow, the orchestra sound is clear, in short everything is as it should be. The performance not only is pure and precise, moreover it excells in a vital musicality. Even a certain stylish difference has been excellently comprehended between the almost incroyably mature symphony of the very young, scarcely eighteen years old Mozart (Symphony in g minor K 183, the so called „small g minor) and the Jupiter Symphony (K 551) of the Mozart´s latterday period. The Little Night Music fulfils the function of a delectable encore. The long and short of it is that this is a traditional Mozart on a high artistic level.
